be careful..

guys, i am finally watching 'food inc.' and let me warn you: you can never unsee this movie. it is shocking. actually shocking.

i am hoping to get a copy of the movie to show friends and family, if you're interested in seeing it, let me know. i'm far from an activist but something has to change, that's for sure.

here's the website

i posted the trailer a while back, but here it is again:

eventful

josh, me, jared and maria with jared's awards

these past few months have been full of big life events.  in between the big life events, i have found it hard to talk about the daily minutia.  but today i am making a return to chatting about the little unimportant details of life, let's begin:

**the black eyed peas new song, 'boom boom pow'.  i am listening to it right now, and i want to listen to it all the time on repeat.  [i would post a link to the mp3 but 'big blogger' is watching].

**moving on, marinated mozzarella balls on pita chips.  i could eat them every day for every meal.  i found a recipe for how to marinate them myself yesterday.  will get on that soon.

**finally got a bag i've had my eye on for months (for 50% off, no less).

**netflix, why are YOU so awesome?  the roommates and i expectantly check the mailbox for your latest offerings every day.  we love you.

**i am currently spending my morning looking at fun wedding stuff, being in a wedding is fun and it makes me excited to have a fun little wedding one of these days.

**you guys should keep your eye out for jared and maria's wedding pictures to be posted on joshgoleman.com.  they are going to be SICK.  [and he is amazing, look around his sight]

**2 very different movies that you should see.

*UP.  go see it today.  and be ready to cry several times.  at a cartoon.  just go see it.

*the hangover.  really seriously inappropriate, you will also cry in this movie because it is so friggin' funny.  but this is not for everyone, let me give you the demographic for this movie, if you haven't slept for about 48 hours and are really loopy, and you have a really low brow sense of humor you will laugh until you can't breathe.

gloomy and cool

on a day like today, where i still have on last night's pajamas [now with the addition of rainboots and a sweater coat], all i want to do is read.  in mere moments, i will head out, in said pajamas, to pick up some coffee, and return to read quietly until a girl's appointment rolls around, then i will return from whence i came and snuggle up, in my weirdo outfit, and do some more reading.

after seeing a few other friends make lists today, i will follow suit and make a list of the best movies to hibernate to (this time of year):

1.  true life confession:  i made a goal to watch 'it's a wonderful life' (at least in part) every day of december last year.  i don't think i quite accomplished it.  though, i will say the time it airs on nbc a few nights before christmas can't be beat.  something more exciting about it coming on tv.

2.  family stone.  i want to have five kids because of that movie.

3.  finding a good season of tv, whether it's lost or top chef, and getting really into with the fam in between turkey and playing with new gadgets.

4.  a muppet's christmas carol.

5.  ____________________

i'll leave that last one open.  what is your favorite comfy holiday movie?  charlie brown?  white christmas? (oh, yes please).

sentimental and a bit creeped out

sentimental because i just watched this video about a friend's first son being born. it was so sweet and amazing.

also, i'm creeped out because of google map's new feature.

this is my parent's house. the house i grew up in. not sure when they did this, but it must've been a little while back because my car is in the carport.

uhh what else? nothing is really going on. i'm finally getting to go see 'the dark knight' tomorrow. anna will also be spending the day with me. hopefully, she won't show up at 'sis AM' for 'brafast'.

also, i am incredibly distracted--jennifer hudson just came on regis and kelly, she is in the lowest cut dress, and i am actually cringing hoping that everything stays right where it should. regis is unabashedly staring. it's like watching a car crash, you can't quite look away.

and on that note, here's jennifer singing on the sex and the city soundtrack--

Jennifer Hudson--All Dressed Up In Love

okay one last thing. a couple of years ago at camp, we had a tv character party where we all dressed up like someone from tv. i would like to take a moment to grieve the loss of my chosen tv character. estelle getty (sophia). i turned out looking nothing like her, but hey, i got nothing but love for you 'stell.

same ol', same ol'

sitting here at 10:30pm watching syndicated sex in the city.  it's our nightly ritual, beulah insists.  i think she's a samantha.

i picked up the motorcycle diaries at fred meyer the other night.  it's at least the second time i've bought it, maybe the third.  i hadn't watched it in several years, and watching it today i remembered why i keep buying it.  there's not a lot i want to say about it, but if you haven't seen it, please give it a try.  [also, i don't think there is anyone more charismatic than gael garcia bernal].

tomorrow brings a fun-filled day of the puyallup farmers market, batman, and beulah's first puppy class.

one more thing before bedtime.

and...my job here is done.
